Inspirational figures from business, sport and politics have come together at a conference in Newcastle held to coincide with the city hosting games at the Rugby World Cup.

The Legacy of Leadership conference at the new Crowne Plaza hotel in the city’s Stephenson Quarter was organised by The Journal in association with Ryder Architecture, law firm Muckle, wealth managers UBS, Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University and Newcastle City Council.

The event - which was chaired by former Rugby World Cup winner and one-time Newcastle Falcon Matt Burke - was rounded off with a Q&A in which Mr Kerr, Sir Ian and Coun Forbes were joined by Gentoo chief executive Peter Walls and personal trainer David Fairlamb to answer questions from the audience.
