CLIENTS PETER

Why did you start training?

As an amateur rugby league player, I represented Great Britain on tour in Australia. On my return I signed a professional contract with St Helens. In what turned out to be my last game of professional rugby league, I had the honour of lining up against Wigan for Whitehaven, at Central Park. However, the occasion was marred when I tore my cruciate ligament.

I moved up to the North East and whilst attending Hartlepool Hospital for post-op physiotherapy, I got in touch with David to help in my rehabilitation. After the initial consultation, he devised a training programme geared towards strengthening my leg muscles as well as working on upper body power training.

What benefits has the sports rehabilitation training given you?

After extensive knee surgery I worked on a specific programme geared towards my rehabilitation. The support and encouragement I have been given by David along the way has been crucial. I am now playing rugby again and know that through David’s support, knowledge and understanding of fitness and personal people skills, I will continue to play for as long as I can.

One phrase that sums up the training?

The best.

Trainer's Comment

Big strong hard man on the field, but a big softy really! He is a great friend and I am very pleased to see his knee is as strong as ever and he can still put the big hits in on the rugby field.
